Andrew Grous is an Associate in the Mass Tort and Class Action groups. Andrew focuses his practice on representing men and women who have been diagnosed with asbestos-related diseases such as mesothelioma, lung cancer, and asbestosis. Throughout his time with the firm, he has represented numerous victims of asbestos exposure, including Con Edison and LILCO powerhouse mechanics, Navy servicemen, plumbers, carpenters, plasters, telephone operators, construction workers, and auto mechanics. Combining his knowledge of asbestos-containing products and different asbestos exposures, he is uniquely familiar with the intricacies involved in navigating cases through the New York City Asbestos Litigation (“NYCAL”) docket from the initial filing of a case through jury selection and trial. Andrew has litigated cases assigned to both the in extremis trial docket (an accelerated trial docket reserved for living plaintiffs where time is of the essence) and the FIFO trial docket.
Andrew also works on other mass tort cases and class actions. Currently, he is involved in the intake and filing of cases where men and women were injured as a result of taking the prescription drug Xarelto. Additionally, he served as Co-Class Counsel in the Reilly, et. al vs. Palm Restaurant, Inc. et. al, Supreme Court of the State of New York (County of New York 2009) consumer class action.
Prior to joining the firm, Andrew was a litigation associate at a national plaintiffs’ firm where he fought for the rights of mesothelioma and lung cancer victims in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. There, he primarily honed his writing, oral argument and product identification skills, but also worked on two trial groups involving seven mesothelioma victims, which resulted in multi-million dollar settlements.
Andrew is a member of the American Association of Justice (AAJ) and the New York County Lawyers Association.
