Ms. Ruth D. Marcus is Counsel in the Mass Tort and Class Action groups at Wilentz, Goldman and Spitzer P.A. Ms. Marcus is currently in charge of the New York estate work in connection with the firm’s prosecution of mass tort litigation, including all types of estate appointments and compromise orders.
Previously, her practice focused on mass toxic tort litigation, products liability, personal injury litigation, and FELA. As the daughter of an asbestos-exposed shipyard worker, she has successfully represented hundreds of workers who have suffered from occupationally induced diseases, including asbestosis and asbestos-related cancers. In addition, she has litigated other toxic tort and defective product cases concerning repetitive stress injuries, silicone breast implants, and a mass tort involving fraud.
Ms. Marcus is a member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, The American Association for Justice, and the New Jersey State Bar Association.
In 2015, Ms. Marcus was appointed to the Board of Trustees of the Essex County Family Justice Center (ECFJC), a non-profit organization serving the interests of victims of domestic violence.
