Biographical Information:

Mr. Linton is a shareholder of Wilentz, Goldman & Spitzer P.A., chair of the Firm’s Construction Industry Law Practice Group, and a member of the firm’s Commercial Real Estate Team.  He offers extensive experience in the implementation of major private and public construction projects, combining broad and sophisticated transactional and dispute resolution experience with a business-oriented approach.

His experience includes counseling clients in the planning and development of large-scale capital projects including warehouse and office complexes, solar energy projects, parking garages, mixed-use retail, commercial and residential projects, significant single-family residences, schools, road and bridge projects, pipelines, and wastewater facilities, and in a wide range of dispute resolution proceedings ranging from informal mediation through litigation in the State and Federal courts.

His experience also includes preparing and negotiating construction contracts of all types, assisting in contract administration, serving as a negotiator and advocate in delay and extra work claims and construction defect matters, mediating, arbitrating and litigating bid challenge and construction contract cases, and handling a wide variety of other construction and project-related issues.

Before joining Wilentz, Mr. Linton served as general counsel to the Atlantic County Utilities Authority.  His public-sector experience also includes service in the law departments of Atlantic County, Toms River Township, and the City of East Orange.  As a Wilentz attorney he has represented public agencies ranging from local school boards to the New Jersey Turnpike Authority.  His representation of virtually every type of New Jersey public agency and authority on every level of government has resulted in an extensive background in New Jersey procurement law.

He has shared his experience with colleagues and industry professionals in a variety of continuing education seminars conducted by the Institute for Continuing Legal Education, Lorman Educational Services, the Construction Specifications Institute, and others.  He is a member of the Construction and Public Contracts Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association and the American Bar Association Forum on the Construction Industry.
