Michael F. Schaff to Present at Louisiana State Bar Association Health Law CLE on Medicinal and Adult Use Cannabis

Wilentz Health Law and Cannabis Law Co-Chair Michael F. Schaff will present “Cannabis High Points: What Lawyers Need to Know about Medicinal and Adult Use Cannabis” at the Louisiana State Bar Association 10th Annual “J. Barrett Benton” Health Law Section CLE.

Mr. Schaff and the other panelists will provide an overview of federal and state laws related to cannabis, including current qualifying debilitating medical conditions, the Controlled Substances Act, the Bank Secrecy Act and related anti-money-laundering regulations, and the SAFE Banking Act. The annual symposium will also cover recent healthcare fraud and abuse trends, legal and ethical issues in informed consent, legal issues in retail medicine and physicians/payer combinations.

This program has been approved for 6.5 hours of MCLE and Specialization Credit, including 1 hour Ethics
