Michael Schaff Receives NJICLE's 2016 Distinguished Service Award

Wilentz, Goldman & Spitzer, P.A. is pleased to announce that Michael Schaff has received NJICLE's 2016 Distinguished Service Award. The award was presented to Mr. Schaff on December 12th during the association's 2016 Excellence in CLE Awards Reception. 

The Distinguished Service Award recognizes Mr. Schaff for his exceptional contributions to continuing legal education spanning his 30 plus year career, particularly the New Jersey State Bar Association and NJICLE and for serving as the Chair of the Editorial Board for the New Jersey Lawyer magazine.  Mr. Schaff has taught over 50 ICLE seminars.  Mr. Schaff, legal education advocate, is a frequent lecturer to a myriad of organizations and business owners.  In addition to his many hours on the dais, Mr. Schaff has contributed to many legal healthcare publications and treatises, including serving as author and editor of the American Health Lawyers Association's Representing Physicians Handbook, and as an author of Representing Hospitals Handbook and Fundamentals of Health Law.  He is also the co-Executive Editor and an author of AHLA's The ACO Handbook: A Guide to Accountable Care Organizations.

Mr. Schaff, a Shareholder and Chair of the Corporate and Health Law teams, has a background rooted in business, finance, and taxation and an exceptional understanding of the law.  His knowledge has been particularly beneficial advising professional practices for many healthcare professionals and Facilities; for the structuring of business entities; for entities interested in buying, selling or merging businesses; and for a variety of other manufacturing, retail, and service businesses requiring legal experience.  Additionally, Mr. Schaff has served as general corporate counsel for many privately-held companies.
