Wilentz attorneys Michael F. Schaff, Brett R. Harris, and Lisa Gora will serve the New Jersey State Bar Association in leadership positions for a number of its Committees and Sections.
Wilentz Health Law and Corporate Law Co-Chair Michael F. Schaff and Wilentz business, nonprofit and technology attorney Brett R. Harris have been appointed as members of the NJSBA Bylaws and Resolutions Committee. The Committee reviews and recommends necessary clarifications and approves the bylaws of the NJSBA Sections and Young Lawyer Division. Mr. Schaff will also serve on the NJSBA Meeting Arrangements and Program Committee, tasked with recommending to the Board of Trustees the selection of site, facilities and related policies for the NJSBA Annual and Mid-Year Meetings. Mr. Schaff has served as NJSBA Trustee since 2017 and as Emeritus Director of the Health Law Section since 2018. In addition, Mr. Schaff will serve another term on the Editorial Board of the NJSBA New Jersey Lawyer Magazine. At Wilentz, he represents businesses of all sizes as well as healthcare providers in strategic transactions. He also advises clients in private equity investments in healthcare and telehealth.
In addition to the Bylaws and Resolutions Committee, Ms. Harris has been re-elected to the Board of Directors of the NJSBA Business Law Section for an additional three year term. She has been a member of the Section’s Board of Directors since 2001 and serves as its Immediate Past Chair. The Business Law Section provides regular informational and educational programs concerning federal laws and regulations affecting New Jersey profit and nonprofit business organizations. In addition, Ms. Harris has served as a Trustee of the NJSBA Women in the Profession Section since 2011. At Wilentz, Ms. Harris focuses her corporate transactional practice on counseling charities and foundations on exempt status, governance and compliance, assisting businesses with intellectual property protections and cybersecurity.
Wilentz healthcare and corporate attorney Lisa Gora has been elevated to Chair-Elect of the NJSBA Health Law Section. The Health Law Section provides updates on laws and regulations affecting health care services through programs, conferences and publications. At Wilentz, Ms. Gora advises healthcare professionals and group practices on federal and state statutes and regulations affecting their businesses in addition to corporate transactional matters with respect to the formation and structure of healthcare entities.
