The New Jersey Law Journal Names Lynne M. Kizis a 2020 New Jersey Trailblazer

8.24.2020

The New Jersey Law Journal has named Wilentz Shareholder Lynne M. Kizis to its 2020 list of New Jersey Trailblazers. Ms. Kizis was recognized for her trailblazing contributions to the advancement of products liability law in New Jersey to protect victims of mesothelioma, asbestos and other occupational and environmental exposures, as well as dangerous drugs, medical devices and defective consumer products.

Over her 30 year career, Ms. Kizis has handled high-stake class action cases that have exposed industry frauds, hazards, and cover-ups. Her efforts have included revealing insurance carriers’ efforts to interpose false and fraudulent defenses to asbestos litigation, battling the health insurance industry for its systematic underpayment of out-of-network claims, and serving as part of the Wilentz team as Co-Counsel to the State of New Jersey against the tobacco industry. As recent Past President of the New Jersey Association for Justice and its fourth female leader, she played a lead role in restoring the legal rights of those injured in auto crashes to sue the wrongdoer for unpaid medical bills, fixing the New Jersey Supreme Court decision of Haines v. Taft.
