The New Jersey State Bar Foundation has honored Wilentz Of Counsel John E. Keefe, Sr. with its Medal of Honor Award for 2020, its most prestigious award presented annually for “significant contribution to the advancement of New Jersey’s justice system or legal profession.”  Norberto A. Garcia, NJSBF past President, commended Judge Keefe, Sr. for demonstrating “a dedication and commitment to the highest standards of excellence.”  The award was conferred to Judge Keefe, Sr. at the Foundation’s Medal of Honor Awards Dinner held on September 28 at the Park Chateau in East Brunswick.

Appointed to the bench in 1977, Judge Keefe’s judicial career spanned nearly 25 years, retiring as the Presiding Judge of the Appellate Division of the New Jersey Superior Court, where he served for 13 years.  He joined Wilentz in 2021 as Of Counsel and as Co-Chair of the firm’s Alternative Dispute Resolution practice, where, as a highly sought-after mediator he provides mediation, arbitration and consultation, and discovery master services.  Prior to joining Wilentz, Judge Keefe served as Of Counsel to Keefe Law Firm.
