Wilentz Shareholder Everett M. Johnson has been named to the list of Diverse Attorneys of the Year by the New Jersey Law Journal. Mr. Johnson is among the 14 honorees named to the 2021 list for “advancing the cause of diversity” and “commitment to the law and to advancing the legal profession,” according to the New Jersey Law Journal.

Over his 20-year legal career at Wilentz, Goldman & Spitzer, Everett Johnson ascended from a 2L summer associate in 2000 to an equity shareholder in 2011 and as the first African American member of the Wilentz Management Committee in 2018. Today, Everett leads the firm’s Diversity Committee and serves on its Performance and Evaluation and Conflicts Committees, which help Wilentz to maintain its high standard for service delivery.

In his public finance practice, Everett represents municipalities, counties, improvement authorities, and boards of education throughout the State of New Jersey as bond and redevelopment counsel. On the underwriter side, Everett has represented large investment banks in significant public finance transactions.
