The New Jersey Association for Justice has honored Wilentz Shareholder Lynne M. Kizis with its Meyer-Segal Award, presented annually in recognition of “exemplary leadership to the profession, the community, the NJAJ and the mission of the NJAJ Women Trial Lawyers Caucus.” The award was conferred to Ms. Kizis at the NJAJ 5th Annual Awards Dinner held on February 24, at The Palace in Somerset.
Ms. Kizis served as president of NJAJ from 2018-2019, a statewide organization uniting 2,800+ trial lawyer members who represent the rights of individuals in the New Jersey court system. During her tenure as president, Ms. Kizis advocated in Trenton to preserve people’s rights under the Consumer Fraud Act, to protect their right to sue professionals for malpractice, and she advocated for legislation to restore the rights of those injured in auto crashes to sue the responsible parties for their unpaid medical bills. She continues to serve on its Executive Committee and its Board of Governors. She also co-chairs its Mass Tort Section, its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee, and chairs its Political Action Committee.
At Wilentz, Ms. Kizis is a co-team leader of the firm’s Mass Tort/Class Action team. Over her 30 year legal career, she has advocated for the rights of those injured by toxic exposures, defective products, dangerous drugs and medical devices, and those harmed by corporate and insurer fraud.
