The Middlesex County Bar Association has honored Wilentz Shareholder Willard C. Shih with the Robert J. Cirafesi Chancery Practice Award for his “significant contribution to the legal profession.” The award was conferred to Mr. Shih at the Middlesex County Bar Association’s 17th Annual Practice Area Awards Dinner on March 16, at The Pines Manor in Edison.

At Wilentz, Mr. Shih is a Shareholder on the Business and Commercial Litigation team and an officer of the firm, serving as its Treasurer, and a member of the firm’s Management Committee. Mr. Shih’s litigation practice includes the representation of businesses and business owners in complex commercial disputes. He also represents national, regional, and local law firms accused of professional negligence and other claims.

The Middlesex County Bar Association established the award in honor of Robert J. Cirafesi, an esteemed attorney of Wilentz from 1970 until his passing in 2004. Mr. Cirafesi served for a number of years as Chairman of the MCBA’s Chancery Practice Committee and founded the Middlesex County General Equity Mediation Program, serving as its coordinator for many years. The award is presented annually to a General Equity Practitioner who exemplifies the "highest standards of integrity and professionalism,” principles by which Mr. Cirafesi practiced law.
