Wilentz Shareholder and Co-Chair of the Public Finance Department, Everett M. Johnson has been named a NJBIZ 2022 Leaders in Law honoree. The award was conferred to Everett at the NJBIZ award ceremony held on May 24 at The Palace at Somerset Park.
Over his 21-year legal career at Wilentz, Everett ascended from a 2L summer associate, to an equity shareholder, to become the first African American member of the firm’s Management Committee. Today, Everett is Co-Chair of the Public Finance Department, leads the firm’s Diversity Committee, and serves on its Professional Evaluation Committee. In 2021, Everett led a new 1L Diversity Summer Program for diverse law students.
He serves as Chair of the Board of Trustees of the NJ Children’s Foundation, and as a member of the Board of Trustees to the United Community Corporation and Greater Oaks Legacy Charter School.
