Wilentz Shareholder Brett R. Harris has been honored by the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation (CCF). Ms. Harris accepted the Marshall Sherman Humanitarian Award as a patient, caregiver, and active volunteer for both the New Jersey Chapter and the National office of the CCF, and she appreciates this opportunity to help raise awareness for this cause.
Ms. Harris has served on the CCF’s National Patient Education Advisory Committee since 2016, having a hand in projects relating to education materials, website redesign, and an organizational position statement. She has been a grant reviewer for the CCF’s Research Department. Several years ago, she was nominated by the CCF as a consumer advocate and served as a consumer reviewer for the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs’ Peer Reviewed Medical Research Program of the Department of Defense. Also, in 2021, she was a panelist on a national webcast for the CCF’s MyIBD Learning Webinar Series, speaking about insurance denials at a program entitled “Tips & Tools for Managing Costs of IBD.” Ms. Harris’ dedication to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation is nothing short of honorable.
At Wilentz, Ms. Harris is a corporate transactional attorney with extensive experience in stock and asset acquisitions, contract negotiations, and business counseling. Ms. Harris has a particular focus on representing tax-exempt organizations and foundations while also dedicating her free time to a variety of non-profit causes, including the CCF. In addition, her practice also includes intellectual property and technology law.
