Angelo J. Cifaldi, President and Managing Director of Wilentz, Goldman & Spitzer, P.A., will present a continuing education program at Rutgers Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy titled “The Legal & Ethical Implications of AI in Pharmacy Practice.”
As artificial intelligence (AI) continues to advance, its applications in healthcare present opportunities to improve efficiency and medication safety while raising important legal and ethical considerations. The program will explore the evolving role of AI in pharmacy practice, including potential liabilities, the standard of care, patient privacy, and data security under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
The program is designed for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians and will provide guidance on navigating the opportunities and challenges of AI within the current legal framework governing pharmacy practice.
