Jay Sawczak is an associate in the Banking & Financial Services group at Wilentz, Goldman & Spitzer, P.A., focusing on the representation of institutional lenders, developers, commercial banks and investors in structuring, negotiating and documenting commercial real estate transactions and financing.

Prior to joining Wilentz, Jay was an associate at a full-service law firm, where he handled construction and real estate matters with a focus on leasing, property purchase and sale, site development, access agreements and resolution of disputes related to project closeout. Earlier in his career, Jay was an associate at a midsize firm, where he handled a multitude of commercial litigation matters including breaches of contract, lien law claims and demands, wrongful termination, delay claims, construction and design defects and business divorce.

Following law school, Jay served as general counsel at two general contractors in New York City focusing on interior build-outs, labor and employment issues and dispute resolution related to project closeout.

Jay earned his J.D. from Rutgers Law School-Newark in 2015 and his B.A. from the University of Vermont in 2006.
