New Jersey Courts Issues New Municipal Court Violations in Updated Statewide Violations Bureau Schedule

5.15.2020

On May 15, 2020, New Jersey Courts Acting Administrative Director Glenn A. Grant, J.A.D. issued the updated version of the Statewide Violations Bureau Schedule (SVBS). Effective April 27, 2020, the revised list increases the number of offenses within the jurisdiction of the Municipal Court to 1,400, furthering the Judiciary’s ongoing efforts to simplify the handling of Municipal Court matters. In fact, members of the public now have the opportunity to plead guilty and pay for their offenses through various options, without being required to appear in court. Offenses may be paid by credit card at NJMCdirect.com, by mail, or at the local Municipal Court’s violations bureau window.  Before deciding to plead guilty to an offense, please speak with an attorney to discuss the ramifications and collateral consequences.

If you have a question related to the Updated Statewide Violations Bureau Schedule or any other criminal law matters, please contact John E. Hogan at 732-855-6470, or another member of our Criminal Law Team.
