Anne S. Babineau to Speak on “New Jersey’s Economic Recovery Act of 2020” at the 2021 New Jersey Future/APA NJ Planning & Redevelopment Conference

Anne S. Babineau, a shareholder in the Real Estate and Redevelopment groups at Wilentz, Goldman & Spitzer, P.A., will lead a panel providing an overview of some of the highlights of the tax incentives that were recently added to the redevelopment professionals’ toolbox, focusing on the most widely available and best funded of the 15 new programs now available under NJ’s new Economic Recovery Act of 2020. The session will be held at the 2021 New Jersey Planning & Redevelopment Conference sponsored by New Jersey Future and the American Planning Association of New Jersey. 

  • Brian Sabina, Chief Economic Growth Officer at NJEDA will respond to questions regarding EDA’s implementation of the Emerge (success to Grow NJ) and Aspire (successor to ERGG) Programs.
  • Amber Randolph, CFO, Newark Campus/Rutgers will address how an institution like Rutgers can employ the Community Anchor Institution program under which entities like universities and health care facilities can employ tax credits to invest in businesses in census tracts that were qualified to be designated as federal Opportunity Zones, and/or to attract targeted industries to PA 1 areas.
  • Vaughn Crowe of Newark Venture Partners will consider how experienced venture capital firms can partner with EDA to invest in and attract businesses to NJ pursuant to the Innovation Evergreen Program.
