Employment Law Update: New Notice Issued for Fair Credit Reporting Act

Employers should be aware that the notice form required under the Fair Credit Reporting Act entitled “A Summary of Your Rights Under the Credit Reporting Act” has been revised. Employers using third parties to perform background checks should immediately begin using the new form. The new form can be found at https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/pdf-0096-fair-credit-reporting-act.pdf and contains information regarding fraud alerts and an individual’s ability to place a “security freeze” on his/her credit report.
