Wilentz, Goldman & Spitzer, P.A. is pleased to announce that Darren M. Gelber, Shareholder, and Chair of the Criminal Law team, was recertified as a Certified Criminal Trial Attorney by the New Jersey Supreme Court; an accreditation awarded to less than 2% of attorneys in New Jersey. Mr. Gelber was first certified in 2006 and has been recertified every five years since then.
The Board on Attorney Certification was established by the Supreme Court of New Jersey in 1980 for the purpose of helping consumers find attorneys who have a recognized level of competence in particular fields of law. A limited number of attorneys are designated by the Supreme Court as "certified attorneys" if the attorney: is able to demonstrate sufficient levels of experience, education, knowledge, and skill in a specific area of law or practice; has passed a rigorous examination; and has been recognized by their peers as having sufficient skills and reputation in the designated specialty. This certification process is the only recognized vetting of credentials, trials, peer review, and testing of an attorney in New Jersey.
By continuing to meet the standards established by the Board on Attorney Certification and the Courts, Mr. Gelber maintains the breath of Wilentz practices with certified attorneys; Maureen S. Binetti - Employment Law, James A. Hicks - Workers Compensation, John E. Keefe, Jr. – Personal Injury, Mass Tort/Class Action, Brian J. Molloy, Willard C. Shih, and Donald E. Taylor - Commercial Litigation.
